We have a short week ahead of us, woohoo! Pretty straight forward, Act 2 test Monday and then begin Act 3 Tuesday. An outline of the test:

  • Some true/false on plot
  • Matching characters with their descriptions 
  • Sequencing MAJOR events of the Act
  • Matching Quote ID
  • Multiple choice on the plot and content
If you completed the study guide and give it a good look over before the test, you should do well!

November 7-10, 2011

This week, we will move into Macbeth. This is the biggest unit of the semester so make sure you keep up with the reading. There are a lot of points on the line! Plus, after this unit is Winter Break; you will have plenty of time to relax. This week closes up the first quarter of the year. There are still points on the line to improve your grade before I submit scores but now is the time to step it up if you have developed some bad habits. Somethings to note:
  • Tuesday is the literary devices quiz
  • Thursday is the test on Macbeth Act 1
  • Reading during this unit will earn you some extra credit, so be ready to volunteer!

            Great job last week! You have now finished your first unit of senior year Language Arts. Progress reports will be sent out Tuesday. If you like what you see, keep it up. If you want to make an improvement, come talk to me. It is still  earlier enough in the semester for you to get the grade you want. Some important things to note:

            • Vocabulary flash cards due Monday for extra credit
            • Wednesday is the vocabulary test
            • Thursday is a review of MLA that will prepare you for the research paper. Make sure you are in class. There is homework for this night that will be worth big points!
            • Friday we will begin reading The Canterbury Tales
